Full Product Description This recall involves the Simply SmartTM "Remove" Make up Removing Towelettes by Celeste Industries Corporation. This product is used in the area of the eyes and packaged as a single towelette with hiexpress.com shown on the foil packet. All lots are affected by this recall.
Hazard Identified The product is contaminated with the bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This organism can cause infections in the eyes, respiratory system, soft tissues and throughout the body, especially in people with weak immune systems.
Since this product may be used in the area of the eye, there is a possibility that inadvertent introduction of the tainted product directly in the eye can result in serious eye infections.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or illness to Canadians related to the use of this recalled product.
Corrective Action Consumers and any hotel guests who may have taken this product are instructed to immediately stop using the recalled product and to dispose of it.
Consumers who have used the product and have any concerns should contact a healthcare professional.
